About

My name is Jasmin Riedl. I am a political scientist with a huge love for interdisciplinary work.

I am based at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, where I have a stand-in Professorship for Political Science since 2019.

A few years ago, I was wondering how one could calculate the pace for each legislation (and how the associated time strategy of political actors could be quantified). Pace is not duration. Duration only tells us how much time passes between a defined start and end. It tells us nothing about what and how much happens during that time.

Encouraged by André Kaiser, supported by Ursula Münch and critically challenged by Dirk Lüddecke, I started the journey to find answers. PolProDat is the interim result of this journey.

This project was and is possible only due to the unremitting and patient support of Martin Riedl. Not to forget all my student assistants who helped survive the final manual cleaning process: Luca Zipfel, Rabea Barth, Melina Brockmann, Leon Keske, Maximiliane Strokosch and Jan Landsiedel. Last but not least, Wiebke Drews constantly helps me interpreting my findings.
